Winter's grip

Well, not exactly a 'grip' yet, just a hint of what may be to come.  We did have the 'surge' on the coast but we are a few miles inland but know that many have been flooded out along the west and east coasts of England and Scotland.  Awful to see on the news some houses disappearing into the North Sea.
This photo was taken on a sunny walk - an icy pool, using my iPhone.

  1. Brrrr! That looks cold! I'm glad you weren't affected by the storm. It has been bad in some places but thankfully I don't think any of our family or friends living in coastal areas were affected.

  3. Amazing photo, Julia! It could be an aerial view of a coastline, or a microscopic view of plant cells... Quite intriguing.

Many thanks for your kind comment about my video - yes, it takes a huge amount of work and time to produce something like that, but I soooo enjoy doing it!!

My Dad died last night. I have just done a blog post about it.

  5. Thank you for your kind words about Dad, Julia, and for your prayers and blessings which are so appreciated. It really is such a comfort to know with 100% certainty that he is now with the Lord Jesus - he brought me up in the fear of the Lord until I was ready to make my own commitment, and we always used to have such lovely discussions about the Bible and about our faith. He was such a special man and loved by all who knew him. I feel deeply privileged to have been with him at the end and to hold his hand as he took his final journey. I miss him dreadfully but know that he is with me always but just in a different way now.

Thank you again - your words really brought me comfort.

  8. Thank you for another lovely comment, Julia. My dad was indeed a truly lovely man, with so many talents and interests. Our main problem now is trying to fit it all in the funeral service without making it take all day! How do you sum up the life of a truly Renaissance man? It seems strange to say it, but I am enjoying making the plans with my hubby and sister, to honour him in the best way that we can.
