Happy Easter!
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter, and for those of you who are not well at this time or have undergone surgery, a speedy recovery and freedom from pain.
As you can see from my photos, for the first time in my life I have used onion skins to colour the eggs. My mum always used to do it - I had to watch a Youtube video to remind myself what to do! Never too old to learn! The bird's nest I found on the pavement (minus eggs) after it had been blown down, the egg carton I painted white and the ranunculus were one of a rare finds in this area at this time! Hope you all get some sun to enjoy the start of Spring!

These are really beautiful elements you've gathered for your photos. I've never thought of painting an egg carton. Wishing you a blessed Easter weekend. Pam
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely, especially the one with the nest. I can't believe that you have never dyed eggs with onion skins before. My Nan did it every year and I have done it a few times, not so much recently though
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of using onion skins to color eggs, Julia, and they are just beautiful. I will definitely want to try this.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you.
Julia, I hope you had a lovely Easter (it's late as I post this). These are beautiful and I love the ranunculus' color, and the onion skin dye for the eggs...they have such unique color variation.
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty combination. I'm smiling at the eggs as I've just been playing with onion skins too.
ReplyDeleteLove the onion-skin dyed eggs - how pretty are those! Gorgeous photos with a beautiful colour scheme. I hope you had a blessed Easter. Thank you so much for all your lovely, prayerful and encouraging comments during my hospital stay. I came home on Tues. and am so glad to be here, with my private nurse (best friend from school!) and my darling hubby to look after me. I have so many lovely messages to reply to and it's going to take some time to catch up. Please keep an eye on my blogs for updates as and when I feel up to doing them.

Just stumbled onto your blog. Such lovely photography! You write that this blog morphed from a textile blog...welll I I don't don't know much about textiles but you sure have an artist's eye for photography.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a nice welcome home commnet, Julia. It's great to be home and I am being well looked after. My friend went home on Sunday and my hubby is continuing the good work! I had my histology results on Monday and because the cancer was so aggressive I've got to have some chemo which isn't the news I was hoping for, but a small price for staying alive! Oncology appointment early May.
