Well, I've sent these photos off to the Pewter Society to see if the plate is genuine or not. Not that it will make any difference - it's just out of curiosity. You know when you've found just what you were looking for and you love using it. Don't you?!
Oh, I will be interested to hear what you learn about your pewter. The markings look authentic. I love the second photo with the lovely decorative handle and the pale orange berries. A treasure of a find, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome piece! I hope it has some value. It certainly is a nice piece with the water well in it. Makes for great photos too! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the contrasting colours in the first couple of shots, really beautiful
ReplyDeleteBeautiful simplicity, Julia!
ReplyDeleteI love old pewter. Don't use it for eating though...it's filled with lead.
ReplyDeleteNicely detailed shots, Julia. Looks like you've got a treasure, regardless of what the 'experts' say.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures, Julia... The soft grey of the pewter really sets off the bright colour of the fruit. As for the texture of the detail shots, it's fabulous! The plate looks genuine antique to me - it's got that gorgeous patina of age and wear and tear. It's really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind words - this project is something close to my heart that I am really enjoying doing!
