Still discovering treasures at the second-hand market stall! The green ink bottle is Victorian and unusual in that it has a well for the ink inside the bottle. A bargain due to a small chip and damaged cork but perfect for photos (£2) The small brown one I found this morning, (50p), feather my own! or rather an ex-pheasant! Used my light-box and added a texture from Distressed Textures to the second one. One of
Kim Klassen's textures to the first one.
You've found some real treasures, Julia !
ReplyDeleteLovely texture work !
Nice weekend,
Sylvia
I've never seen a green glass ink bottle before. It's very pretty. I have one similar to the stone one. Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful finds these are, Julia.

What bargains they were. Can't beat a good market stall or junk shop rummage!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Julia! I was just saying to my hubby today that when he's retired, I hope he will be prepared to take me to some markets so I can browse around and pick up some unusual stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment - glad you like my latest card, and I agree, bees make a lovely subject. There is a lot of symbolism associated with them, too, and how their lives work in the colony is nothing short of miraculous!

I guess I'd be dating myself if I said I remembered ink bottles ...
ReplyDeleteNever saw a green one - I seem to remember just clear glass ones. Lovely textures with those shots.

ReplyDeleteMore gorgeousness, Julia... So beautiful. I agree with Cindy that each of these objects has a story to tell. I am hoping when my hubby has retired that he will have time to take me round the markets etc. so I can search out some bargains!
