Anglesey

We've just had a very enjoyable holiday on Anglesey, an island off the north coast of Wales - you could clearly see the mountain range, including Snowdon, in the distance. The last two pics were taken in the old copper mine near Amlwch with amazing orange-yellow colours. The mining goes back to Roman times and was once a thriving industry, today you can walk around the site and imagine all the activity that once took place here (and they were my favourite colours!)

  3. Beautiful colours in that stone wall. My ancestors were involved in copper mining in Ireland and in South America.

  4. Hi Julia, the colours are incredible especially in the second picture when I enlarged it. Hope the weather was good for you although like us I am sure you wouldn't let wet weather put you off. We are going to Southport for a few days soon and are hoping to visit the Lake District one day, quite a while since we were there. We are also off to Rouen Normandy soon and hoping to visit Monets Garden.
