Ups and downs

A lot has happened since I last blogged! A strenuous (for me!) 3-hour walk up Cheviot ended with a 15 minute ride down in an RAF air-sea rescue helicopter after I tripped and gashed my face on stone. No bones broken - just needed to be glued together. Could have been a lot worse. The crew was marvellous and I am extremely thankful to them and my friends who looked after me until the helicopter arrived.
This was followed by travelling down to Suffolk for my nephew's wedding where a good time was had by all! These shots were taken "down south"!

  5. Oooh Julia - poor you! That could have been very serious indeed, so I'm really glad you were OK. The air-sea rescue is marvellous, like our local air ambulance which does great work - it's a charity my hubby and I support. Hope your new Frankinstein look with the stitches on your face didn't scare the wedding guests!! Our nephew is getting married too, this month, and my hubby's off to Estonia for that - unfortunately I'm not well enough for such a trip but looking forward to photos etc.

  10. Oh my goodness! I've just read your blog. I'm so sorry you fell and hurt yourself. And airlifted off the hillside to hospital. I've often wondered what that would be like! I'm glad you mended ok - and you got a ride in a helicopter too! But a nasty shake-up too I shouldn't wonder.

  11. Your opening sentence is a bit of an understatement in my books - a lot happening round here is going to the supermarket twice in one week! Very pleased to hear that you are fine - you must have ben a popular guest at the wedding with an adventure like that to tell.
