Shades of brown

Three small Spanish bowls in the porch near the rusty objects - a reminder of hot summer days and eating outside.

... and a photo (sooc) of a wonderful tree seen in Wallington Hall's walled garden which a gardener told me was an acer ..... (I couldn't catch the Latin name) but which is a member of the maple family. The colours were amazing - oranges and browns. It cheered up a dull afternoon

Thinking of Australian friends having to deal with another disaster. Praying that there will be no loss of life.

  1. All seems a bit strange with the fires as it is only about a month ago since we were driving past those places

  2. Beautiful bowls, very Mediterranean, bring on the Spring / Summer. Very windy here today, good for washing on the line but cold!!

Love the colours in the tree.

My sister is in Australia and so is Phil's Aunt and family. She lives very near to where the flooding was the other week. Haven't heard from my sister for a few weeks,at Christmas she moved from Perth to NSW.

As you say pray for their safety. Jackie.

  3. Lovely bark, I itch to peel the paper thin bark & stick it down somewhere!

Awful the extreems that are having to be dealt with in Australia.

  4. Beautiful browns - so cheering in this grey time of year.
Australia certainly seems to be going through it at the moment. Fire, wind and water, what next? - I am sure it's not in an earthquake zone!
As you say, hoping there is no loss of life.

  10. Like Emma Id have wanted to take some bark home, but to try steaming it with fabric wrapped round it, to see how it coloured the fabric! fabulous colours indeed.......
The words weather and bizarre seem to go together hand in hand these days.......such sadness for people. Life can be so cruel.
