Dark

I set up a small dark "studio" (hardly merits the name  - I could call it a box!). Here's the setup and three photos I took. Black foam boards and fabric, side window light, tripod, manual settings

  1. Your little black box certainly proved to be a perfect place for your stills....All of them are beautiful....I always find it so funny to look at the pull backs after seeing the edited piece but it's good to see how others set up for their shots....

  2. They look like rich oil paintings. Thanks for sharing how you do this.

  4. Oh how gorgeous these are, Julia! I love the dark mood which really makes the fruit look rich and mouthwatering! I agree with the others that they do look like still life in oil!

Thank you for your visit and your kind words. So glad you like my colouring! It's extremely relaxing, and made the time of my chemo yesterday pass really quickly. It certainly generated some interest! I am feeling not too bad at all today but usually feel OK over the weekend while the steroids are still kicking in - only time will tell if the reduced dose makes me feel better early next week which is when I'd usually crash. A 50 percent reduction has got to make a difference, though, surely!

Hope you have a good weekend.

  10. Because I seldom get out my tripod to use, especially for stills, I'm always intrigued by your setup and how you stage your stills. The black really is so dramatic, and the tripod makes it possible to get low light in these formats. The fruit still is stunning and like a painting, and the flowers are amazing with the black. Thanks for sharing your "box" setup!!
