Still life and set-up

Week 5 of Kim's Bestill52 class was all about side light exploration.  This was set up next to a north facing window with a white board (propped up on the chair) reflecting the light.  The backdrop was a charity shop scarf, the boards were from B and Q (free as they were just packaging!) and the blue bowl was found at TKMax.  Flowers out of the garden but have no idea what they are!  Shot with the 50mm lens and edited in LR and Elements.

  3. Lovely, Julia. The result is a beautiful, simple image with a very appropriate sentiment. It's interesting seeing how you set it up, too.

Thanks for your lovely comment. I am feeling a bit better today and was able to enjoy our day out on the final day of our holiday - I slept deeply in the car there and back! It's annoying having wasted several days being too poorly to enjoy things properly but it can't be helped. You should visit the Cotswolds if you get the opportunity because it really is beautiful - lots of unspoilt villages and very pretty countryside too.

  4. Great photographs and I like the way you have showed us bloggers how you set it up, makes it look quite easy but probably not for me....
Have a good weekend, Jackie in Surrey.

  5. Firstly, I love your new look here on your blog!! Fleur de les are a favorite of mine. Your set up is really inspirational Julia...I see you use a tripod for yours. I mostly use handheld, and probably should use my tripod more. Love your scarf, and the soft background it makes for the pretty flowers. Thanks for your visit today! xx

  8. Thank you for your latest comment, Julia. I think we are on the right track to getting these various symptoms under control. I feel very positive after my doctor's appointment this morning.
