Something old - yew tree, at least 900 years old, planted in Beltingham graveyard, believed to ward off evil spirits. New growth seen on a walk at Allen Banks, which is said to be a good spot for seeing lots of bluebells. I'll put it in the diary!
Great photographs of the old Yew with the chain, wonderful colours in it. Our bluebells will soon be in flower in the garden but NT Winkworth Arboretum, Godalming, Surrey, is the best place to visit, the perfume from them is lovely.
Such wonderful photos Julia. I would love to walk there! Thank you for visiting my bundle and me ;o) ... yes friend and I had a lovely time as always. They have had such luck with the weather. I expect we will hear all about it soon ;o) xx
I love the picture of the chain around the yew trunk. I just found your blog, and was having fun trying to figure out from your writing if you are in Northumberland, England or in the U.S.'s Northumberland, Pennsylvania (I am in the U.S.) but then I saw your "Should I take an umbrella?" setting and that made it too easy!
love the texture of the yew with the chain
