Take one

Take one failed mono-print .....

...... and scan it, crop the best bit, play with it in PSP, print it out and transfer it to fabric, layer it up and sew using a motif from the original print = one mini-quilt!

Recharging the batteries

Yesterday a walk and picnic at the NT's Wallington Hall was just the job as we walked through the woods and walled garden. Lots of families having picnics - seems to be a favourite place for this!

WIP becomes WF

Inspired by this photo of part of a train, I transferred the image onto fabric after using an effect in PSP and stitched some of the outlines.

Now to do some more!

Revived, restored, renewed!

Some of the church spent the weekend away at the Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick Derbyshire, enjoying being with old friends and with God.

The weekend wouldn't have been complete without a walk across the fields to the Midland Railway Museum where old engines and stock are made new, complete with rides on steam trains etc. A rail enthusiast's delight! While HO took pictures of fully restored engines ...

.......I liked the ones that looked as if they could never be restored!

.... but nothing is impossible!

These are a few of my favourite things ....

Well, you have to have a cup of tea when you are at the beach! (and a little something else ...)
HO was there only his cup got cropped. Now that's something you don't often hear!

Evening sun

Sewing has been on the back burner for a while as we take advantage of the good weather. Too good to miss (again)! Here are some piccies of an evening stroll at Blyth beach and harbour.

...... the spice of life

Yesterday we took to the Simonside hills near Rothbury as the weather was too good to miss. HI, or rather HO, enjoyed scanning the skies for aircraft whilst eating his marmite sarnies. Great scenery, heather out, blue skies.

Today was the turn of sea and sand, still lovely weather!
