Dahlia

Having a bit of an experiment with uploading this image.  Following one of Kim's videos about using the Publish Service in LR to upload to my blog without going into Elements (which I have been doing - it works ok but is a long way round).  I  think I've done it  correctly.  These things do my head in at times!

  2. I'm not even sure what that means...can you upload pictures from Elements and LR. I have never tried that. I think I'm to tired to try! Ha!

  3. Happy to see you accomplished the process Julia. Lovely dahlia bloom..it is probably in full bloom by now for your enjoyment.

  6. Lovely, Julia. Dahlias always speak of late summer and the colour is almost autumnal! I love this time of year (except for the bugs!). Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog - yes, it never seems to rain but it pours, and lately I've been wondering what else can go wrong lol! Anyway, we are soooo enjoying our short break with Mum away.

For several years I have been using Windows LiveWriter to compose my blogs on my hard drive, and publish from there. As a blog editor it is immeasureably better than Blogger's own, and it's a free download from the Microsoft site. Of course, if you're using Mac, that's a different story... I never have any problems with my images these days, and they are the size, and in the position I want them to be. I edit them all in Serif PhotoPlus (does 99% of what Photoshop does, at a fraction of the price) and then just import them into LiveWriter from my hard drive, and Robert is your father's brother.

  7. The texture and focus of the dahlia are simply exquisite - and the composition of the blossom looking into the frame is perfect. You are way ahead of me in uploading your pictures from Lightroom; it seems I do everything the hard way!

  8. Thanks for your encouraging comment, Julia! I am so looking forward to the felt class. Today I am full of the Kaffe Fassett exhibition - my hubby and I went up for that today. I'll be blogging about it as soon as I can get the numerous photos edited!
