Many of the houses in the Lake District are made of beautifully coloured slate or stone. As you may imagine, I couldn't resist taking a few (macro) pics of the 'bricks' which are layered horizontally. I'm afraid I got a bit distracted ....
I don't blame you for getting distracted, they are great photos. I have a few pictures of stone walls and rocks from the Lakes for their textural value.
Ooh, more geology! Even as a non-geologist, you'd have liked the limestone quarry and walls we went to in Derbyshire yesterday. I brought back a few lovely samples, as you might guess... xxx

PS I thought my flower was an agapanthus I remember planting some bulbs but maybe it is a lily, what do you think, that was why I didn't put on the post what it was?? Jackie in Surrey.
